While there are many different cabinet designs and materials to choose from, AC Remodeling uses only high quality products and designs when installing custom kitchen cabinets. We recommend the following four cabinet designs when constructing your dream kitchen:
1. Full Wood Construction
We advise all of our clients to choose cabinets with plywood construction, not particle board. Plywood holds screws tightly, is less susceptible to water damage, is stainable and paintable, and is overall stronger than particle board. Plywood also weighs less than particle board, making it easier to hang large cabinets. Plywood does come at a higher cost than particle board, but it's the better choice when it comes to durable cabinets that have a pleasing appearance and feel.
2. Soft-Close Doors and Drawers
Soft-close hinges allow drawers to be closed softly even when slammed shut. Another benefit of using soft-close slides is that they last longer since less stress is placed on the hinges themselves. Additionally, choosing full extension slides allows for easier access to the entire drawer. Soft-close kitchen drawers add comfort to your home, making them a must in any kitchen renovation.
3. Full Overlay
Homeowners can choose from standard overlay or full overlay cabinets in their kitchen. Standard overlay cabinets have a more exposed face frame, and are typically less expensive. While more expensive, full overlay cabinets give your kitchen a custom, high-end look. Full overlay cabinets with double doors also allow you to store larger items than in standard overlay cabinets.
4. Roll Out Trays
Roll out trays are a must in your kitchen – they maximize storage space, provide easy access, and streamline your cooking. If a kitchen does not have the space to accommodate a pantry, roll out trays are essential in some of the base cabinets.
